Erik Ole Jørgensen
ARCHITECT & DESIGNER

Bovirke
Bovirke was an influential firm of cabinetmakers (founded in the 1940s by Poul H. Lund, Vejle), that played an important part in the golden age of Danish design. As short-lived as it was, the workshop still left a lasting mark on Danish design through its collaborations with leading designers.
The brand was known for iconic designs that combined craft and industry with modernist idiom – and always with special focus on quality.
Besides collaborating with Erik Ole Jørgensen (designs Bo 360 and Bo 361, made by Olaf Black), Bovirke were also known for their work with other leading designers, such as Finn Juhl and Arne Vodder. Their use of materials icluded innovative combinations – from wood, to metal, to suede – as part of a visionary approach. The result was an output that highlighted Bovirke as both a lab for modern design experiments and a reliable and a consistent source of high-quality furniture.
